Dedications—what are they for? I love deciding on the Dedication of a new book—it’s usually a no-brainer, like when I dedicated The Mason’s Mark to the contractor crew who renovated my house while I wrote the book, or Dear Philomena: Love, Lust & Murder on Chincoteague Island, to my children, who spent many a spring or fall week searching for birds and crabs and ponies on the island.
