I’ve just returned from the Amelia Island Book Festival—held
in Fernandina Beach February 14 to 16. It was fabulous!
I saw old friends and made new ones—authors of thrillers,
mysteries, young adult, and even paranormal. Sold some books and talked to many
readers. The unquestionable hit—for obvious reasons—was my new mystery Flotsam
& Jetsam: the Amelia Island Affair. Many local residents liked the emphasis
on the island’s complicated and fascinating history. Visitors considered it a
great souvenir.
A highlight was meeting Jacques Pépin, the five-star chef,
who made me an ameuse-guele (a
tidbit) and laughed at my joke!
Book signing events take a lot of organization and this is
one of the best.
